Science notes
Same idea as a quiet-site WebSDR, smaller scale
A rural receiver is useful because the local noise floor is often lower than in a city. Signal levels and band noise here can support casual propagation watching and, later, more careful notes.
Planned, once the Kiwi is stable:
- GPS-locked frequency (built into the Kiwi)
- WSPR and related weak-signal reports from this grid
- Simple notes on band noise versus time of day
- Occasional coverage of solar / geomagnetic events if the receiver is healthy
This is not a university observatory. If you have a specific, well-bounded observation request that this site can actually support, use the contact page.
